Hola mis amigos y familia!!!
This week has been awesome.
I killed two HUGE spiders in our house... yes, Dad be proud. my comp doesn't like it when I kill them but I cant sleep at night if I know it's roaming around my house.. yah know? I didn't take pictures bc who wants to open their email and see a spider?? not me. They were ginormous though.
My comp also likes to eat the foot of a chicken. Apparently that's normal here?? she spits out the toenails and everything. DISGUSTING. haha. I will never.
This week we had a Uni-Zone conference with Ayacucho, which would normally be a Multi-Zone conference, but since Ayacucho is so far away from all the other Lima South missions it was a uni-zone, haha. It was cool! We sang for President and Hermana Richey a medley of Let US All Press On and Hope of Israel in Spanish, English, and Portuguese! Pretty cool.
We found out at the uni-zone conference that we get to go to Lima on Oct 20 TO MEET THE PROPHET!!!! I'M SO STOKED!! not stoked for the 12-hour bus ride, but stoked to listen to the actual prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! How cool is that? I can't contain my excitement.
WE FOUND A PUPPY this week!! She was abandoned on the side of the street and we gave her to our dueña until we find someone to take her! We named her Sol. She's so precious. I'll send pics.
This weekend was AMAZIng. General conference was the best on Saturday! We didn't get to see the Sunday sessions, but will watch those next week. Perus electoral elecciones were this week, so we were confined to our house all day on Sunday, yesterday. It was a day of super-planificacion and estudiar haha. It was good. We bought hamburgers Sat night to have for lunch on Sunday so we were chillin.
Yesterday was also my 2-month mark!! Whoop-whoop! Can't say time is going by super fast, but it's going. I miss home, but I know that I am supposed to be here serving the Lord!
MY favorite talk from conference was by Ronald A. Rasband about facing our fears. It was crazy how every word he spoke felt like it applied right to me! I am trying my best to face my fears here in Peru and I definitely need the Lords help every single second of every day. My favorite quote: Our love for Him and this gospel dispels all fear. Love it so much.
This week my comp and I have discovered tongue twisters in each other's languages, haha. It's pretty entertaining for the both of us to try and teach the other how to say them. So fun.
Love you all! Until next week!
Español frase de la semana: Lo maximo! (Awesome!)
Question:
Deb: How often do you get together as a zone?
Brittany: We get together every week for district and zone meetings! and on p-days sometimes
