Lima La Gris

hello!  Greetings from Lima!  It's still gray and cold, and I love it!

It's probably my last week with Hna Orellana because she's been in this area for 6 months, so that's a little scary.  I'll have a new companion next week and I'll have to teach her the area and lead the area.  I feel super unprepared for that, but I guess the Lord knows what He's doing.  Well, I don't guess so, I know so.  I just gotta keep confiding in Him an His power.

This week, on Wednesday (which was the day I arrived in Ayacucho one year ago exactly), we had our multi-zone conference with the zones La Campiña & Villa maria.  That was awesome, I learned a lot and saw some good friends from past zones.  Hermana Richey is the best and gave us sweets and just showed her love for us, so that was good, too.  I love her.  There were only 6 hermanas (well, there are only 6) in Lima now so we're pretty close.  In the pictures below, you'll see Hermana Cole and Hermana Winter (from Utah), my comp Hermana Orellana (from Guatemala), Hermana Tatafu (from Tonga), and Hermana Albuja (from Ecuador). I love them all.

This week, we also had an activity in the stake called "Casa Abierta" in the church building.  It was bien bonito.  We gave tours to investigators of the church, taught a few principles, introduced them to each organization (like Primary, Relief Society, etc), and ate a little dessert.  It was super cute.

I also went on an exchange w/Hna Cole and she's a blast.  We had a lot of fun and taught a lesson on charity to a cute old lady so that was a highlight.

Other than these things, not much more has happened that's super crazy!  We're just here walking everywhere and enjoying every second.  I love missionary work and kinda don't wanna stop doing it.  I love the absolute peace and pure happiness and joy that I feel here.  I love God and am so incredibly grateful for His son, Jesus Christ.  I know They love us and hear our prayers.

I gave a talk in church yesterday, without a word-for-word script, in Spanish, for 10 minutes.  For those of you who know me well enough know that I never did that in my own home and own language, it was always a 5 minute talk read straight from a prepared paper-- word for word.  So if that isn't the power of God, I don't know what is.

Thank you, I love you all.  I wish you the best con todo en esta semana.

Con carińo,
Hermana Lowe

Another Great Week en la Obra!

So we've seen a miracle this week --- well lots of 'em. We found 10 new people to teach and the majority of them are so gold!  They're so gonna progress.  I'm so excited.  We found a family of 6 on Tuesday and they're awesome.  The dad had a feeling that someone would come visit them so he had his kids clean up the house and prepare for the people. Without even planning on it, we saw the light on and decided to knock on the door, and they were all ready for us!  It was amazing.  God works in mysterious ways.

On Thursday we had interviews with President and got Little Caesar's pizza for lunch!  It was fun to be with the Richey's.

Today we went to the beach again for p-day. We explored some tide pools in Pachacamac, which reminded me of Laguna Beach.  We played sand volleyball and took pictures and ate empanadas and it was great.  We're kinda tired though.  It's all good.  I'm happy.

I'm thankful for this time God has given me to be on the mission and experience so many new things.  I truly know that He is involved en todas las cosas and that He is completely aware of each one of us.
