Feliz Año 2020!!

Dear Family and loved ones,

Not a lot has happened this week, I feel like.  Well, I mean, it was Christmas, but that seems like forever ago, ha ha. We spent Christmas Eve with the Bishop's family and Christmas with all the missionaries in our zone.  We ate pollo a la brasa, did a small gift exchange, and watched Toy Story 4.  I got a small turkey statue thingy in the gift exchange and cried watching the movie because I started applying it to my life and childhood -- bad idea.  But it was a fun day because I got to call my fam and practically be there with them on Christmas morning.

Other than that, it's been kinda a hard week because everyone is out of town or busy or has people over and don't have time for the gospel of Jesus Christ...but we're still out here, trying.  Luchando.  The mile count reached 9.6 yesterday.... and we didn't even run in the morning like we do 3x a week.  It's good though! We talk to lots of people & are getting to know our area better than ever.  I'm hoping that after New Years everyone goes back to normal and maybe not every single corner won't be full of a group of drunk guys having a fun drunk party.  My life is so fun and interesting!  I actually do love the mission, I hope you know.  It's an adventure.  Es lo máximo.

Catch you all in 2020!  Have a great new years, celebrating a new DECADE!!  I'll be here in Perú.😉

Happy Merry Christmas!!

Mis queridos,

This week has been a party.  We travelled to the mission offices 4 days in a row...so that was super fun. (NOT) To get to the offices, we take a 20 minute combi or bus ride to a certain stop called La Curva, and then we wait there fro the only bus which will then take us to Surco-Jorge Chavez.  It surprises me that I can navigate a little and make my way around certain little parts of Lima with the public transportation.  Didn't ever think I could do that.

On Wednesday was our Christmas Multi-Zone conference with the four zones in Lima- La Campiña, Villa Maria, Pachacamac, and Villa el Salvador.  It was SO FUN. We had a spiritual part where there was a pretty musical program and a fun part where we exchanged gifts and watched videos that each zone in the mission had made.  It was a blast; I got to see a lot of friends from past zones, be part of a bell choir, and sing a duet with my companion to the song, "Mary Did You Know".  It was an unforgettable day.

Thursday was my last first district meeting of the cambio.  The "last" things are starting to happen and it's freaking me out!  Friday was our ward Christmas party.  We sat at the entrance and welcomed everyone and gave them little sticker name tags.  But sadly, because of mission curfew, we had to leave early to be home by 9pm.  SO that was kinda a bummer.  But it's OK, the ward loved it and there were a lot of investigators who also enjoyed it.

Yesterday night there was a Christmas devotional in the stake center La Campiña.  There was a choir composed of members in the stake, and we as missionaries joined them on a couple songs, ,and my comp and I sang our duet again...in front of at least 200 people, maybe 300.  I didn't count the audience, ha ha.

Today we're with the Hermanas Cole and Romero and we're gonna try to hit the mall and be a part of the day before Christmas shopping.

Well, I love you guys, and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  Or as my cute Peruvian friends say as they try to speak English, Happy Merry Christmas!!  May you enjoy this holiday with friends and family and remember the birth of your Savior, not only in this time of year, but always.

Con mucho amor,

Hermana Lowe
