Christmas is in full swing down here! It's hot and humid, the sun comes out everyday, I smell like sunscreen 24/7, weird Perúvian holiday music plays on the bus radios, everyone goes to the beach instead of church, hot chocolate bars and paneton are rising in prices in the little tiendas, strawberries and watermelon are cheap and in season, I've packed all my sweaters and jackets, our electricity bill is probably rising because our fan in plugged in all day and night, and singing Christmas lights are hung here and there throughout the neighborhoods.
Tender mercy of the week: My comp dropped her wallet on a bus the other day as we were getting off and the cobrador ran and flagged us down to give it baack to her. Like WHAT?? Light the World✅
I wish someone did that with my camera 9 months ago. It's fine.
I went on an intercambio with Hermana Winter, which was our last one together🙁. She finishes her mission a week from today. I'm sad she's leaving but glad to have met her, gone through so much together, and made some great memories. And I'll see her again soon, so it's all good. We had a cute surprise goodbye party for her, so that was fun. It scares me that I'm the next culprit...
Our Bishop's wife, Elena, is the cutest and tries to speak a little bit of English with us. But, all she knows is "what is jour name", "C'mon", "okay", "Do you e-speak English?" and "Oh my gotch". SHE'S SO CUTE! She would not stop saying "Oh my gotch" yesterday and we thought it was so funny. She says it on purpose to make us laugh. To make it better, her 88 year old mother was trying to repeat it. ADORABLE.
Luisana had her interview with the Bishop and is going to the temple with the Relief Society on Saturday!! So we get to go, too!! I'M SO EXCITED!!! BEST DAY EVER!
The time flies by so uncontrollably fast that it scares me. I'm just trying to enjoy every moment. Any advice from RM's would be very much appreciated at this time. Enjoy every moment this holiday season and work on Lighting the World, uno por uno!

Hermana Lowe
