Ayacucho Part 4!

Hello all!
The call for cambios (transfers) was this last weekend and I'm staying 6 more weeks in Ayacucho!  With Hna Valencia :)  I'm excited and relieved to have avoided a huge change, but I know it's coming next transfer, ha ha.

This week went by fast!  It has rained about everyday and at different times during the day.  Even though its' "summer", it's super cold at night (my favorite) and the sun is super strong midday.  I'm loving it.  Also I realized my last winter was like Jan/Feb of 2018 and my next winter will be in July/Aug of 2019!  So that's kinda cool.  Hemispheres are weird.

Okay, so here's a cool story for yah.  On October 12th, Hna Ruiz and I were in an area we didn't usually go to looking for people who were investigating the church before, but couldn't find any.  So we kinda wandered down the street and saw a woman sitting outside peeling potatoes.  We started talking to her and helped her peel her potatoes (with knives, btw).  We've visited her every week since then and guess what?  She's getting baptized this Saturday!  I'm so excited for her.  Through her, we met her son, sister, and niece, who all want to get baptized, too! They need a little more time, but we're so excited for them, too.  I love this family with all of my heart.

Also, the other day, after helping her peel potatoes once again, we helped her gather her hens and roosters and put them in their cages for the night.  So hilarious.  There's about 15 and we had to pick one, surround it, and grab it quick before it started screaming and flapping its wings ferociously, ha ha.  So comical.

This week, Hna Boyd got transferred :(  She's in Ica now!  I definitely cried when we said goodbye, but I know she's doing great and is supposed to be there at this time.

Random fact:  My pensionista made loma saltado again this week so I'm happy.

Ha ha, that's about it!  I know this church is true and I'm witnessing the positive changes and happiness it brings in people's lives!

Love you all!

"Llama Queen" as Bridgette & Amanda would say

Haha hello everyone! Sorry I didn't send an email last week!

Last Monday marked my 5 months since leaving California and starting this crazy adventure! Time is going by fast!

I hope everyone enjoyed their breaks from school and work! We've been working each and every day here in the pouring rain and SUPER loud thunder. I love it.

Presidente y Hermana Richey (president of the mission Peru Lima South and his wife) visited us this week and we went to Razuhuillca on Saturday, and had a cool meeting with them on Sunday night. I sang a solo Paz en Cristo, so that was fun, and I got a pretty cool pic with a llama on Saturday... so I think I can go home now bc my mission is now officially made, haha. JK I have so much more to learn here and so many more people to invite to come unto Christ.

I've got the hang of Ayacucho, and we have the call for transfers this weekend so I'm scared. Usually when you get a hold of an area you get transferred, haha, but we'll see! I'll let you all know next week. If I stay one more transfer I'll be here for one third of my mission! super cool bc I think Ayacucho is the best area in my mission... but who knows, maybe I'm biased.

I love this work and I know this church is true and changes lives! We were asked as missionaries to share our reason for being here on the mission at the meeting on Sunday night, and I said, *Estoy aqui en la mision, muy lejos de mi familia, porque quiero ayudar otras familias ser eternas y tener la felicidad del Evangelio* or: *I am here on the mission, really far away from my family, because I want to help other families be eternal and have the happiness of the Gospel!* I testify that this Gospel DOES bless families and brings SO much happiness!

Have a wonderful week!

Brittany's response to my email...

Some of my investigators are progressing.. just slowly, it's hard to get appointments and to get people to commit to their appointmetns and commitments, but we are trying. Juana and Zenaida have baptismal dates, so pray for them to keep their commitments! They're sisters and I hope that will help them progress together.

I GOT YOUR PACKAGE!!!! and Jackie's!!!!! It made me so happy! The USB doesn't play on my speaker or the cd player we have in the house, so I'm going to listen on the computer here in internet. seriously... all the strawberry stuff is so good.. especially the dried strawberries! haha you're the best. the jerky is to die for too, and I wore the dress yesterday and everyone complimented me on it.... it's definitely my color.  I got a lot of compliments on my eyes, too!

Mom, you're the best. I feel so loved. Thank you for the package, and the heartfelt emails. This week passed my 4 year mark since receiving my patriarchal blessing, and so I read it a few times and that always helps me feel better. I know I can do this if I keep persevering everyday. Some days are so hard and some are amazing. It depends on my attitude and if I had a dream the night before that's making me homesick hahaha. not really, but kind of.

love you so much mami. (that's how they say mom here) I don't know what I would do without yah
