Hermana Brittany Lowe : 2 Decades Old & Half-Way There

This week was absolutely crazy! I loved every second.

On Monday night we made arepas with our favorite Venezuelan family, which was so fun and arepas are delicious.

On Tuesday, it was my Dad's birthday (shout out to Stu/Bro. Lowe/Stubert/Stuart Little, etc) so I got to call him and got a bonus call from my grandparents and great grandma. A legendary moment. I should say I'm so grateful for technology, but more grateful for the un-ending love and support from all of my wonderful grandparents. I'm truly blessed.

Tuesday was also my half-way point in the mission! I absolutley CANNOT belive it. The time is passing too fast and I'm not ready to be on the downward slope! No, thank you. I love the people and culture here and (almost) never want to leave. I just can't believe it's been 9 whole months since I left home. Wow.

On Wednesday we had our district meeting and the zone sang Happy Birthday/Feliz Cumpleaños to another Elder and I and we bit the cake (but I didn't get my face smashed in so that was good).

Later that day we had intercambios and I was with Hermana Valencia again....just like old times! Ha ha, so that was fun. I love the hermanas here because it's my BFF's fromt he mish! Solo falta Hna Peterson.

On Thursday we prepped our new house to move in! with the help of our Elders. They're the best!

On Friday, my companion hit her one month left in the mission mark....which is crazy. I'm trying not to be trunky for her, lol.

On Saturday, I turned 20 years old! The Ica hermanas surprised me with a yummy breakfast, a bday poster, and candy and balloons! Hnas Peterson and Pelaez also sent me the CUTEST package that made me feel so loved. I got to talk to my family again and got the best package from them as well, full of cards from friends and family and other things also! Absolutely made my day. I got strawberry cheesecake and lomo saltado from my pensionista (how she knew those are my favorites, idk) but anyway I had a great day and feel so loved, thank you all ❤️

On Sunday, I got to talk to my family AGAIN (the 3rd time this week) for Mother's Day! ha ha, I'm almost sick of them...ha ha totally just kidding, that will never be possible.

I"m so grateful for my momma and all that she has done for me. I seriously would not be the person I am today without her. Shout out to my momma, grandmas, aunts, and firneds that are amazing mothers to me. I hope I'm learning things here that will help me be at least HALF the mother that my mom is to me. Something that I love and have learned in Spanish is this..."to give birth" is "dara luz" but directly translating "dar" is "to give" and "luz" is "light", so it's like giving birth is to bring a light into the world. I just love that. I hope you moms know how special you are for bringing light to the world and giving your children every piece of you. Thank you.

I didn't mention most of what happened this week, like visiting people's homes, talking to strangers in the street, taking moto taxis, praying, and laughing with my companion as we try to keep our attitudes positive every moment. I love the work! Not ready to say bye to my companion, so just here trying to enjoy every moment!
