(We got woken up at 5am by a phone call.....Brittany was calling us from the airport in Mexico and was able to talk to us for 20 minutes! It was so wonderful to hear her voice and to feel her excitement. It's a hard thing she is doing and it was hard to be separated from her district, those she has grown to love. She didn't get the chance to say good-bye to them, so that was also hard. Twelve of the missionaries from the Mexico CCM needed to leave a week early to enable the limit of 50 missionaries leaving next week, when she was normally supposed to leave the CCM, to be able to get their visas, etc, but at least she was able to be with her companion through all of this and 10 other missionaries. We think she will spend a week at the Lima MTC, then go out into the field. The adventure continues! We got this letter from her yesterday afternoon, and are hoping to hear more from her today, but she sounds like she has a busy day ahead of her. On a side note: She accidentally answered us in Spanish once when we were asking her questions.....and it wasn't a long answer, but we could tell that she is learning the language. Pretty exciting! All her long hours of studying and memorizing will be worth it when she can speak fluently. We're praying for her to have the strength and courage necessary to continue in this endeavor of serving the Lord. It has been hard for her, but she wouldn't have it any other way. -Deb)

I am at the Lima MTC! Its been a long day, but we are here. It is SO tiny. I cant believe I'm in PERU.
My pday is tomorrow so I will have more time to email you then. I am in District Ammon, and my comp is actually Hermana Kim, another sister from the Mexico CCM, but Hermana Petersen and Boyd are in the same room as us so we will always be together.
There are only 3 buildings here... so crazy how small it is.
Just have time to let you know I'm safe! We have to wake up early tomorrow to go through international police custom stuff, and then go to the temple!
Love you guys! Glad I got to talk to you today!
